Your privacy on the Journal
Published 25 October 2026. Adido Tech operates this Journal. Contact us about your reader data or to request removal.
Saved articles and preferences
Saved articles, theme choice, feedback choice and an anonymous reader identifier are stored in your browser. Saved lists are not synced between devices. Clearing site storage removes them.
Reader feedback
Helpful votes and submitted questions are stored on our server so the editorial team can review them. Votes can be changed and are recorded once per article and browser identifier. The identifier is hashed separately for each article. Questions are private to the editorial team and are not public comments. Feedback and questions are retained for up to 180 days.
Email update requests
Email delivery is not active yet. If you request updates, we store your email address, consent record and request date in Cloudflare D1. A saved request is not a confirmed mailing subscription. Confirmation and unsubscribe emails will require the newsletter delivery service to be configured. The successful signup message provides a link to cancel your request; you may also contact us for removal. Pending requests are retained for up to 12 months. We do not sell the list.
Readership counts
We count article views, estimated reading completions, share-button clicks, technical-section opens and use of the outage tool as daily totals. These counts do not identify individual readers and cannot prove that someone read every word or completed a share. The reading estimate requires at least 30 seconds with the page visible and reaching the end of the main article.
We respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control for these optional counts. You can also switch counting off on this device:
Request abuse protection temporarily stores a hash derived from the date, endpoint and network address; it does not store the raw address in the Journal database. These entries are removed after two days. Aggregate counts are retained for up to 400 days. Cloudflare also processes requests to operate and secure the site. Fonts and article photographs are fetched from Google Fonts and Unsplash, whose services receive the requests needed to deliver those assets.
